Outdoor Products Need UVI in the Stretch Film

Spring is here and pallets will be wrapped and stored outside in the heat and sun.  Don’t forget to start using UVI stretch film for these applications.  Doing so will save a lot of time and money.

What is Ultraviolet Inhibitor (UVI)?  It’s an additive used in making stretch films that require protection from sunlight.

In direct sunlight, plastics degrade. When poly begins to deteriorate, the physical makeup of the film begins to change, resulting in yellowing, discoloration, chalking, and then eventually breaking down completely. As if that weren’t bad enough, UV exposure impacts the strength of the film, weakening it, and causing cracking and chalking. To help prevent these headaches, ultra-violent inhibitors are added to the resin in the extruding process, slowing the film degradation process. We offer them both 6-month and 12-month protection.

Features & Benefits:

- Provides protection for products that can degrade with sunlight.

- Reduces damages caused by UV rays.

- Preserves strength and quality of film during prolonged exposure.

UVI stretch film is used across an array of industries and applications, including:

-Construction industry and construction sites.

-Landscaping industry to protect pavers and fencing.

-Building industry products, such as bricks, cement, tiles, etc.

-Bagged products stored outside for extended use (Salt, mulch, fertilizer).

The effect of UVI additive is often seasonal and varies from one location to another.  A UVI Film that will last 9 months from September to May, could only last 3 months during June, July and August.

Need UVI hand film or machine film, we have both films in stock here.  Need more information? Call Quick Pak Inc at 813 242 6995 or reach out to sales@quickpakinc.com
